Commercial Airplanes

They say life is a series of choices: At the beginning of Commercial Aviation we had limited choices as there was very few passenger airlines companies operating air flights to countries around the world. On the 1st of January 1914 America had it first schedule commercial airline flight using a Benoist Biplane Seaplane in a 23 minute flight between St. Petersburg and Tampa, Florida conducted by an American pilot named Tony Janus. The airline company was known as the St. Petersburg Tampa Airboat Line. In the 1920s several airlines company developed across the United States, but commercial passenger service was few and far in-between in other words passenger airline service was indeed very infrequent. It wasn't until 1925 Henry Ford's Motor Company developed the Stout Aircraft Company strictly for the construction of an all-metal aircraft that became known as Ford Trimotor. The Ford Trimotor became America's first cost-effective airliner. The Ford Trimotor had a 12 passenger seating capacity. At that time in America, airplane service was seen as an enhancement to Railway Services in the network of carriage transportation. In the advent of the above story, this site Airlines Flight will offer free pictures of commercial airplanes and information on the various airliners in service today.

Legendary Passenger Airplanes

1. The Qantas Boeing 747 aircraft. 2. The Douglas DC-3  was considered by many to be the first true airliner. 3. The triple-tailed Lockheed Constellation of the 1950s. 4. The De Havilland Comet: the first jet airliner in service. 5. The Sud Caravelle was the first successful jet airliner. 6. The American built Boeing 707 and Douglas DC-8  served to popularised the advantages of jet airliners. 7. The Airbus A320 was the first jetliner to pioneer fly-by wire. 8. The Boeing 747 "jumbo jet" was the largest airliner for 37 years from 1968 through to 2005 until Airbus A380. 9. The most loved aircraft of all was the Concorde jet airliner and a commercial passenger carrying aircraft that was capable of flying at twice the speed of sound that operated from 1976 to 2003 by both British Airways and Air France. It would be a great idea if Concorde was put back in service.
